Sagrada Reset - First Impressions

This anime caught my eye for a number of reasons. But first, the tags; Mystery, Super Power, Supernatural, and School. The first three genres are usually a good combination when done well, so I'm excited. And while reading up on it I started getting major Charlotte vibes; an anime I ended up loving.

----------------------------------

It's based on a light novel, and takes place in a city where a large portion of its population has some form of powers. BUT if they were to ever leave said town, they'd immediately forget about them and wouldn't be able to access them anymore. The story follows a group of kids as they use their powers to complete missions for the town's power monitoring group Kanrikyoku.

---------------------------------

Like lots of anime, this one starts out slow, so come expecting the first couple episodes to be lacking in action, i guess you can say there's a bit of world building to get through. Watching this anime is kind of like watching someone put together a large puzzle, starts out boring, then gets more exciting the closer they get to revealing any real sections of the image.

I honestly like it so far, I'm on episode 8, and I think the action may start sometime soon. I'd say this anime would be a great in-between anime, or for a change of pace. There are still times where things get confusing, but I'm sure later episodes will clear that up. It's not so much action packed right now as it is Mystery or pushing on psychological. I mean, one of the main characters can in effect basically rewind time, so this makes sense. This ability is honestly what's kept me interested, and I can't get into it too much without spoilers, but just know that there's a few things that happen fairly early in the series that threw me for a loop at first, but as time goes on start making more sense and hint at something much larger.

One thing I disliked about the anime had to do with the characters. One of the main characters of the group is one of those characters that doesn't express much emotion and just comes off very robotic. I realize it's a big part of certain plot developments, but I just really hope further development of the plot will mean she will eventually learn to emote more. Other than that, I can only really find myself whining about the slow pace for now. Maybe later I'll edit this if I find more to rant about.

So if you want to watch this anime, watch it more for Suspense and Mystery than for action. This also gives me a Slice-of-Life feel at times, especially when they talk about club activities and just interact with other students in the slower parts. Bonus points if you like that genre. As I mentioned at the beginning, this show reminded me of Charlotte, after watching it, that's still somewhat true. BUT, it's not the same either. There's parallels, true, but it's also major differences. And while I can't say for certain YET what the series as a WHOLE will be like for sure I can say that for one thing, Charlotte has a faster pace, it's shorter, and it's a lot more straight forward. If you watched that anime before this, you may well like this one too, but don't come in expecting the same feel with another anime. That's probably a rule everyone should use for anime in general, and if you aren't doing it already, I'm telling you now. Don't do it.

That's all I can really safely say for now, so gimme some feedback, too little? Just right? Want me to include something else in my r̶a̶n̶t̶s̶ impressions? Lemme know!!! PLZ!
